Massive Newcastle United transfer update on Jordan Pickford
Despite Martin Dubravka’s consistent performances in goal for Newcastle United in recent times, it looks like the club are very much after a new goalkeeper in the upcoming summer transfer window and have been linked with one shot stopper after the other in recent times. Names like Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson have been brought up and now, another high profile name has been added to that quickly growing list.
The name is none other than that of Jordan Pickford. The England national team’s number one might be on the move soon as Everton are in very real danger of being relegated from the Premier League.
And if that turns out to be the case, it looks like Newcastle United will be one of the clubs offering Pickford a new home.
As reported by talkSPORT, Everton will listen to offers for Pickford even if they stay up while Pickford will push for a move if The Toffees are relegated in order to preserve his status as the England number one. Tottenham Hotspur are said to be monitoring his situation along with Newcastle United although his Sunderland links would make a switch to St James’ Park a tricky one.
Newcastle United linked with move for Pickford
Pickford is someone who has stepped up to the plate for the England national team time and again over the past several years, even though his form for Everton has been up and down to say the least.
Now, with Frank Lampard’s side very much in the middle of a relegation battle and perhaps even likely to go down, Pickford could soon be available for transfer.
One has to wonder though whether Pickford would be an upgrade on Dubravka, who has done a fine job in goal over the past several months for Newcastle United as they have climbed up the Premier League table.
