Newcastle United suffer Paulo Dybala transfer blow
Newcastle United were rumoured to be one of the clubs in the running to sign Paulo Dybala in the summer. The Argentine’s current deal with Juventus will run out at the end of the season and he is set to depart Turin, after failing to agree a contract extension with the club. But now, it looks like the player has chosen his next destination and that will come as a major blow to The Magpies.
Newcastle United are expected to make a statement signing this summer and many viewed Dybala to potentially be that player.
Dybala had been one of the most highly-rated players in Europe for years and was even viewed as the heir to Lionel Messi in the Argentina national team but never managed to take that next step, with many believing that Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo ended up having a negative impact on his growth as a player.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via Daily Mail), Dybala has been convinced to join Inter Milan after telling the Argentine that he would be a central part of Simone Inzaghi’s team.
Newcastle United suffer blow in the race to sign Dybala
It is safe to say that someone like Dybala has the potential to be a tremendous signing for Newcastle United but now, it looks like they will come up short in the race to sign him.
Dybala has been in Italy since 2012, having joined Palermo back then and it looks like he is keen to remain in the country. Inter Milan won the Serie A last season and are competing for the title once again this season, and thus, it could prove to be a great destination for the player.
On the other hand, it looks like Newcastle United’s search for a marquee signing, if they are indeed going to make one this summer, is going to continue.
