Victor Osimhen has been one of the most highly-rated young strikers in world football for a long time now. He had taken the Ligue 1 by storm during his time at Lille, which convinced Napoli to sign him. And since his arrival in Italy, the Nigerian international has continued to develop, and now, might be ready for another big move. Incidentally, Newcastle United are one of the clubs being linked with him.

Newcastle United could certainly do with another striker right now. Their two main options up top at the moment are Callum Wilson, who has been out of action since December and was not particularly prolific in front of goal before that either, and Chris Wood, who has struggled since his big move from Burnley in January.

Thus, if Newcastle United are able to sign Osimhen, it would be considered as a major coup on their part and it looks like they are willing to go to great lengths to make it happen.

As reported by CalcioMercato, Newcastle United already tried to sign Osimhen in January and are ready to offer him a salary of €8-9 million net per season.

Newcastle United willing to make huge offer to Osimhen to sign him from Napoli

Osimhen is without doubt one of the most in-demand strikers in world football at the moment and it is believed that Napoli will look for a transfer fee around €100 million to part ways with their star man. The Italian club are known for being tough negotiators as well.

It is safe to say that that would be a huge stumbling block for any club in the world and thus, it is not going to be easy for Newcastle United to sign Osimhen.

But if The Magpies are able to pull it off, it would certainly be a statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Osimhen has scored 17 goals and provided 6 assists in 29 appearances this season. And at 23 years of age, one would expect him to get even better moving forward.
