Rio Ferdinand reveals what Eddie Howe told him about Joelinton
Joelinton arrived at Newcastle United with a lot of expectations but struggled to find his feet at St James’ Park for a long time. And by the time that Eddie Howe arrived as the manager of the club earlier this season, most fans must have already written him off as a transfer mistake and understandably so.
The turnaround that Joelinton has made since the arrival of Howe though is remarkable and he is almost unrecognisable to the player who was struggling badly to make his mark at the club not too long ago.
Since the turn of the year, he has been one of the best players in the Premier League and appears to be catching the eye of people around the country.
As reported by The Boot Room, while speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, the Manchester United legend revealed what Howe had told him about Joelinton:
"“We spoke to Eddie Howe the other day before the game, off-screen, spoke to Eddie about him.“He was saying he epitomises what he wants in his players.“He’s come in, he’s worked hard, got his head down, asked ‘what do you need from me? What do you want from me? I will do it.“And he’s going out there and performing to a tee. He’s carrying out all the instructions, no questions asked, going out there and putting it all on the line.“He’s one of the main reasons why Newcastle jumped from where they were.”"

It is impossible to deny how good Joelinton has been under the management of Howe. He has truly been one of the standout players in the Premier League during that period of time and most view him as the most improved player of the season, and rightfully so.
Not many fans could have seen this turnaround in form coming but it is safe to say that they have been delighted by it and would be hoping that Joelinton can continue to perform like this moving forward, because right now, he is truly incredible.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Joelinton has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist this season. And even more have been his performance.
