Newcastle United have been out of this world since the turn of the year. While relegation was a very real possibility once, it is now out of sight and The Magpies could even end up finishing in the top half of the Premier League table, which would represent of the biggest turnarounds in the history of English football.

That does not mean that this team is perfect though. Far from it. There are quite a few areas where Newcastle United must still improve in if they are to challenge the Big Six in the future.

One major weakness in Eddie Howe’s side right now is the lack of a consistent goalscorer. Callum Wilson has been out injured since December and even when he was available, he was not the most prolific in front of goal. Despite that, he is the club’s top scorer this season till now with just 6 goals.

On the other hand, Chris Wood has struggled since arriving from Burnley in a £25 million transfer deal in January. Dan Burn believes though that there is one star at the club who can be a 15-20 goal-a-season player.

While speaking to Sky Sports, Burn revealed how he wishes that the team could find Allan Saint-Maximin in more advanced positions rather than in areas where he has to dribble past six or seven players. The defender believes that the French winger can easily score 15-20 goals a season.

Needless to say, that is a big claim from Burn, especially since we have seen Saint-Maximin struggle to rediscover his best form in recent games. But there is no questioning the fact that when he is at his best, he is a handful for even the best teams in the Premier League.

Saint-Maximin does have the potential to be one of the most effective wingers in England. It remains to be seen if Newcastle United can unlock his best in the future like Burn hopes.
