On top of his game, Allan Saint-Maximin is arguably the most talented player that Newcastle United have in their ranks. The French winger is a talisman. The kind of player who can make something happen out of nothing and is not afraid to try the unthinkable. The kind of player that is hard to find in modern football, when everything revolves around tactics and positioning.
Unfortunately for Newcastle United, Saint-Maximin has not been at the top of his game for some time now, even though The Magpies have done an incredible job as a team, climbing up to 9th in the Premier League table.
Naturally, questions have been raised about his long-term future at the club, with some rumours even claiming that Newcastle United might be ready to let Saint-Maximin leave if a transfer bid around £50 million was made for him.
Since then, Eddie Howe has commented on how Saint-Maximin has a future at St James’ Park. And now, his own comments do not seem to suggest that he is giving any thought to leaving the club anytime soon. As reported by Chronicle Live, the Frenchman told Sky Sports:
"“It’s really exciting. I think every player can really want to be part of this team. We have great supporters, a great city, one of the best leagues in the world.“Everyone can see now a great future for Newcastle – I’m sure we’ll start to be one of the best teams in the Premier League. For that to happen we need to work hard in every training. I know the owner and the manager will do everything to improve the team.”"
Saint-Maximin appears to be excited about his future at Newcastle United
Newcastle United should try to keep hold of Saint-Maximin. As mentioned already, it is hard to find players like him these days, who have the quality and willingness to go on and try to make something spectacular happen.
Of course, it does not always come off, but when it does, it is brilliant. And that can be very useful, when nothing else is working.
Newcastle United would be expected to change up their squad in the summer but it looks like that will not have an impact on Saint-Maximin’s place at the club and he will be staying on at St James’ Park.
