Things have been looking up for Newcastle United lately, as the side have gone on an incredible run of form since the turn of the year and climbed up to 9th in the Premier League table following their win over Norwich City. That is something that would have been unthinkable just a few months back when the club were fighting to stay up in the top flight of English football.

But that’s how quickly things can change in football. And what is even more impressive is the fact that they have achieved this success despite having several of their key players out on the sidelines through injury.

One player was picked up a problem recently is Ryan Fraser. He had been in good form since the arrival of Eddie Howe as manager as well and was making a positive contribution to the side.

There is some positive news surrounding Fraser’s injury though he is in a race against time to be fit before the end of the season. As Ben Dinnery tweeted out, Howe said about the situation:

"“He’s had his second scan and there’s relatively good news in that there’s no massive problem for him but he’s in race against time to get fit before the end of the season.”"

Positive news for Newcastle United regarding Fraser’s injury

Even though Fraser might not end up featuring for Newcastle United again this season, overall, there is positive news regarding his injury as it appears that there is no serious problem for him. Now, it remains to be seen how quickly he can recover from his problem.

Newcastle United have done quite well even in his absence though as players have stepped up to the plate, which is great to see. They have a difficult run of fixtures coming up though.

Over the next three games, Newcastle United will come up against Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, three of the top four right now. Those games will show exactly where The Magpies are right now as a team. After that, they will finish the season with an away game against Burnley.
