Eddie Howe drops Newcastle United selection hint vs Norwich City
Newcastle United have done tremendously well in the previous three games, winning all three. What is even more impressive is that all three of those matches were against difficult opposition in the form of Wolves, Leicester City and Crystal Palace. Now, they have an easier game, at least on paper, against Norwich City.
Not too long ago, Newcastle United and Norwich City were close to each other, near the bottom of the Premier League table. But The Magpies have made an incredible turnaround since then and are currently sitting at 11th, with a top 10 finish very much possible.
On the other hand, The Canaries look almost certain to go down, as they sit at the bottom of the table, 7 points behind 18th placed Burnley.
Going into the game, Eddie Howe has hinted at making changes in the team. The Magpies played a game in midweek while The Canaries did not. As reported by Newcastle United’s official website, the manager said:
"“We may freshen things up.“We’ll have a look at it on an individual basis but we want players that are 100 per cent fit and ready to give their best again physically.“Norwich haven’t play midweek and we’ve had a big physical cost, especially the manner of the two games and the effort it took, with the long spells of possession in the second half of both games (against Leicester City and Crystal Palace), so we need to be ready for a tough game.”"
Newcastle United may freshen it up against Norwich City
The game against Norwich City might be the time for Newcastle United to rest some players, as they have an incredibly tough run coming up.
Over the next three games after this one, Newcastle United will face Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal. Thus, they will do well to get any points from that series, although, as Howe’s side have shown recently, you should never count them out.
Newcastle United have a genuine chance of finishing in the top half of the Premier League table, something that would have been unthinkable even a month or so back. Thus, every point is important for them moving forward and hopefully, they will be able to get all three from the game against Norwich City, away at Carrow Road. The game could very well be tighter than most people are expecting it to be.
