Eddie Howe reacts to Newcastle United success after win v Crystal Palace
A brilliant goal from Miguel Almiron was enough to hand Newcastle United a 1-0 win and all three points against Crystal Palace. The result means that The Magpies have now reached 40 points, which is traditionally believed to be the safety zone for clubs from relegation in the Premier League and it is an incredible achievement for everyone involved.
Not too long ago, Newcastle United had seemed nailed on for the drop but following the arrival of Eddie Howe as manager, some brilliant January signings and players stepping up to the plate, the club have made a remarkable turnaround that not even their most optimistic fans could have seen coming.
It has been a tough journey to say the least and a long way to go in the future as well, if Newcastle United are to reach where fans expect them to be following the change in ownership.
For now though, Howe appears to be looking back in satisfaction with the work that they have done. As reported by Chronicle Live, when asked if this was a significant night for Newcastle United, the manager said:
"“It’s a great night for the football club. You can forget how hard it’s been to get us into this position now. We have to look back with great satisfaction. I say it every week but his is a great place to play football. The all-round atmosphere was brilliant to experience.”"
Eddie Howe deserves tremendous credit for the turnaround at Newcastle United
What a job Howe has done since arriving at Newcastle United! This is a side for whom relegation was looking like an inevitability not too long ago.
Thus, the manager deserves a lot of credit for the improvement that has taken place at St James’ Park over the past several months and he looks like the right man to take this club forward.
Already they look like a team that can compete in the top half of the Premier League and might even finish there this season itself, which is almost unbelievable when you think about it. Even a few weeks back there were question marks about whether they would stay up or not.
