Newcastle United are expected to make quite a few additions in the summer transfer window. One area that does need reinforcements at the moment is their forward line. Callum Wilson has been the club’s top scorer this season but he has been out of action since December due to injury. And it is not like he was scoring on a consistent basis before that.

On the other hand, the club signed Chris Wood from Burnley in the January transfer window in a £25 million deal but he has struggled in front of goal to say the least.

Thus, based on what the duo have showed this season till now, Newcastle United could definitely do with another option up front. And it looks like they have their eyes on Torino’s Andrea Belotti.

As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Newcastle United and West Ham United are both candidates to sign Belotti. Inter Milan, AS Roma, Fiorentina and Atalanta are also believed to be interested though along with French club, Nice. Toronto FC appear to be in the running for the Italian striker’s signature as well.

Would Belotti be a good signing for Newcastle United?

Belotti’s current deal with Torino is believed to running out in the summer and with an extension yet to be agreed, it looks like he will be on the move soon.

A few years back, Belotti was one of the most highly rated strikers in all of Europe after enjoying a 26-goal Serie A campaign. It is safe to say that things have gone cold since then. But, there is no question about the fact that the Italian international is a very good striker when on the top of his game. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 110 goals in 246 appearances for Torino till now.

Newcastle United have been linked with some huge names like Darwin Nunez and Victor Osimhen recently. But one has to say that someone like Belotti would be a solid addition as well, especially on a free transfer. Not only is he a good striker, but a leader as well, currently captaining Torino.
