Newcastle United are expected to make an impact in the summer transfer window if they are able to stay up in the Premier League. While The Magpies have made a lot of progress since the arrival of Eddie Howe as manager and an excellent January transfer window, there is still a lot of work to be done at St James’ Park if they are to move up the table and compete with the top teams in the English top flight.

Of course, they will not start doing that immediately and it will be a long-term project. But Howe has already shown that he can get a tune out of this side, if given the proper backing. Since the turn of the year, Newcastle United have been one of the most in-form teams in world football.

One of the areas that the club might look to strengthen in, in the summer, is on the wings. And it appears that they have a Brighton & Hove Albion star in their sights.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle United have added Leandro Trossard to their list of potential wing targets.

Newcastle United could make a move for Trossard

Trossard has impressed while playing for Brighton & Hove Albion and he has been a part of the Belgian national team picture over the past couple of years as well.

He is enjoying a solid campaign with The Seagulls and at 27 years of age, he is in his prime as a footballer. Thus, if Newcastle United were able to sign him, it would be considered as a coup on the part of The Magpies.

Interestingly, Allan Saint-Maximin has been linked with a St James’ Park exit in recent times, even though Howe’s recent comments about the Frenchman did not suggest that the club were looking to part ways with him.
