Newcastle United are expected to have big plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. The club already splashed out around £90 million on transfer fees in January and it would not be a surprise if they are carry on splashing out when the transfer window reopens. Of course, their first target before that has to be on staying up in the Premier League.

Newcastle United have come a long way in that regard. They have been in incredible form since the turn of the year and risen up the Premier League table to the point where relegation might not be an impossibility but it is certainly an improbability.

One side who are very much in the middle of a relegation battle now though are Everton. Frank Lampard’s appointment has not had the desired effect and now, they sit just one point above the drop zone.

Newcastle United appear to have their eyes on Everton’s Richarlison and as reported by UOL (via Sport Witness), The Magpies are one of the clubs who have made enquiries about the Brazilian. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be interested though.

Newcastle United linked with move for Richarlison

Richarlison has been very highly-rated for a long time. Not only is he a key player for Everton, but he is also a regular member of the Brazilian national team.

Thus, it is believed that Everton would look for a transfer fee around €80 million, if they are to let Richarlison join another club. But if The Toffees end up getting relegated, which looks very possible as things stand, then that fee is expected to come down significantly.

Newcastle United’s biggest weakness right now has to be the lack of a consistent goalscorer and as a result, someone like Richarlison can be a solid addition to this squad.
