Eddie Howe reacts to Allan Saint-Maximin Newcastle United exit rumours
It is safe to say that Newcastle United have improved a lot since the arrival of Eddie Howe as manager. The former Bournemouth boss has done a tremendous job at St James’ Park, guiding the team out of the relegation zone and into a strong position to stay up. Under his management, a lot of players have stepped up to the plate and shined. One who has not though is Allan Saint-Maximin.
At his best, Saint-Maximin is the most exciting player that Newcastle United have and can cause problems to top Premier League defences.
Unfortunately for Newcastle United, we have not seen him performing to the best of his abilities for a while now. Instead, he has struggled to get it going and at times, has even been frustrating to watch.
Thus, rumours have emerged that Newcastle United are open to letting him leave in the summer transfer window. But Howe has insisted that Saint-Maximin has a long-term future at the club. As reported by Chronicle Live, the manager said during a press conference:
"“He’s an incredible talent and of course he has a long-term future at the club.”"
Howe insists that Saint-Maximin has a long-term future at Newcastle United
It might certainly be the right decision on the part of Newcastle United to keep Saint-Maximin at the club.
Yes, his form has been up and down for a while now. But at the same time, there is no denying that he is an incredible player when on the top of his game. Also, he is someone who can make things happen out of nothing and is a talisman. Every club needs that kind of a player and there are not too many left in football these days, when everything is about sticking to tactics and keeping hold of the ball.
Thus, it is great to hear from Howe that Saint-Maximin might have a long-term future at Newcastle United. Now, let’s hope he rediscovers his form soon.
