Newcastle United have had an up and down campaign to say the least. In the first half of the season, they had looked destined to be relegated. But The Magpies turned things around following the appointment of Eddie Howe as manager and the arrival of several key players in the January transfer window. Their form has improved significantly since the turn of the year.

In fact, Newcastle United have been one of the most in-form teams on the planet in 2022 and made it out of the relegation zone as a result of it.

But they are not completely safe from the drop yet, although they do sit nine points above it at the moment. Three straight defeats, at the hands of Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, have led to some doubts creeping back in though.

There is some positivity to be taken from the Premier League table prediction of a supercomputer. As reported by The Shields Gazette, courtesy of FiveThirtyEight, Newcastle United have been predicted to finish 15th and with 40 points.

Supercomputer predicts Newcastle United to finish 15th in the Premier League

A few weeks ago, it had looked like a top ten finish was very much a possibility for Newcastle United, but after three straight defeats, it is hard to see that happening, especially with the type of games they still have to play.

The Magpies still have games coming up against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Thus, it is safe to say that things are not about to get any easier for Howe’s side.

As a result, if they are able to finish the season at 15th, it must be considered as a success, especially after where the team found themselves just a few months back. The focus has to be on avoiding the drop over anything else.
