Newcastle United have climbed up the Premier League table rapidly over the past few months and there is a genuine possibility that they could finish in the top ten this season. That would have been unthinkable just a few months back, when relegation looked to be on the cards for The Magpies. But it is safe to say that their turnaround in form has been quite remarkable.

Newcastle United have been one of the most in-form teams in Europe since the turn of the year. Eddie Howe and the players deserve a lot of credit for this incredible run.

At the same time, one would expect The Magpies to continue on improving though and eventually move further up the Premier League table in the coming seasons.

As reported by football.london, when asked whether Newcastle United could be direct competition for Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal next season, Antonio Conte said:

"“Yeah, for sure. We’re talking about a club that now wants to invest. I know very well these people decided to come into football not only to participate but because they want to win and to be competitive.”"

Conte makes exciting prediction about Newcastle United for next season

There are high hopes that Newcastle United will enjoy a rise similar to what Manchester City has done over the past decade and eventually challenge for titles and European qualification spots.

While that might be a bit of time away, who knows what can happen next season? Not many would have expected Newcastle United to go on this kind of a run at the start of the year. Things change very quickly in football.

Of course, Newcastle United’s primary focus right now has to be on making sure that they remain up in the Premier League. They have made tremendous progress in that regard though and a win or two more could be enough to get The Magpies past the line of safety.

Their next game is away against Tottenham Hotspur, and let’s see if they can get something against Conte’s side.
