Newcastle United are expected to make a splash in the upcoming summer transfer window, as the Magpies’ aim must be on getting up the Premier League table in the future and start competing for titles eventually. But, at the same time, some rumours have suggested that their transfer budget is going to be lower than the £90 million that they shelled out in January. Thus, could the club end up making a big free agent signing? Perhaps, someone like Ousmane Dembele?

Dembele’s current deal with Barcelona runs out in the summer and till now, there has been no contract extension agreed.

As a result, the general feeling is that he is on his way out of the club in the summer. And as reported by Mundo Deportivo, there is a suspicion that Dembele has already agreed or is close to agreeing a deal with another club. Newcastle United are one of the clubs who are believed to be his potential destination, according to certain information.

When it comes to the player, he has insisted that he has not agreed or is close to agreeing any deal with another club.

Dembele linked with move to Newcastle United

Someone like Dembele could be a solid addition for Newcastle United. On top of his game, he is an excellent player and he is proving that for Barcelona right now. Earlier on in his career, he was expected to go on to become one of the best players in the world and many believed that he had a higher ceiling than even Kylian Mbappe.

His biggest problem has been injuries though. The Frenchman has had to spend several spells on the sidelines during his time at Camp Nou, as a result of picking up one injury after another.

Thus, one has to question, how he would cope with the physicality of the Premier League, which is more intense than La Liga.
