Newcastle United have been one of the most in-form teams in Europe since the turn of the year. But they have suffered defeats in back-to-back games, first against Chelsea and then against Everton, both coming as a result of late winners from the opposition. Thus, the international break might have come at the right time for Eddie Howe’s side to regain some of the lost momentum.

At the moment, they are not still safe from the drop but it does feel like they have done enough over the past few months to stay up in the Premier League. They do have a tough run of fixtures coming up though.

Their next game is away against Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte’s side will be looking to get all three points as they chase a top four spot.

The London club have been handed a blow ahead of the game against Newcastle United though. As reported by Evening Standard, Conte’s hopes of having Oliver Skipp back in contention are all but over as he is yet to return to first-team training. The manager had been hoping that he would be fit to play against Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur handed blow before facing Newcastle United

Tottenham Hotspur’s form in recent times has been shaky at best. At times, it looks like they have turned over a new leaf, only for them take a step back soon afterwards.

On the other hand, Newcastle United have enjoyed an incredible run of form this year but after losing twice in a row, they will surely be hoping to get some momentum back on their side by getting a result away against The Lilywhites.

Howe’s side have shown a tremendous amount of improvement over the past few months and there is no reason that they cannot get something out of their trip to London.
