Callum Wilson names Newcastle United star who has ‘stood out’ in Dubai
It is funny how quickly things can change in football and they certainly have for Newcastle United. The mood around their warm weather training camp at Dubai must have been relaxed, in direct contrast to how things would have been just a couple of months back, when they had taken a trip to Saudi Arabia. Back then, The Magpies were very much fighting relegation, now, they are in a much better situation.
While the drop has not been completely avoided till now, it does seem pretty unlikely. They are nine points above the relegation zone, with just nine Premier League games left to go.
Eddie Howe deserves tremendous credit for this turnaround, as do the players. And one player who has been absolutely superb since the arrival of the manager is Joelinton.
Not only is he impressing the fans, but his teammates as well, both as a player and a person. While speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast and as reported by The Shields Gazette, Callum Wilson said:
"“Joelinton is definitely somebody who you see him around the place and his English is good and stuff like that.“But when you get him in an environment where you’re around the pool having a bit of a laugh, a bit of banter and everyone is all together – what a guy, what a character.“He’s just made me like him even more as a person and a player so he’s definitely someone who has stood out to me while we’ve been out here and I’ve enjoyed his company definitely.”"

The transformation that Joelinton has undergone recently is truly remarkable. The record signing in the history of Newcastle United, the £40 million man had never quite found his feet at St James’ Park and was considered by most fans as a flop.
That has completely changed since Howe has taken the managerial hot seat at Newcastle United and in recent times, Joelinton has arguably been one of the best players in the entire Premier League.
It just goes on to show the effect that a manager can have on a player and one can only hope the Joelinton can continue to perform like this.
On the other hand, Wilson is out with an injury right now but there have been suggestions that he could be back in action in the latter half of April.
