Major update on Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United return
Kieran Trippier was one of the signings that Newcastle United made in the January transfer window which helped the club turn it around and go on an incredible run of form since the turn of the year. As a result, they now find themselves in a solid position in the Premier League table and while at one point, relegation had looked like a certainty, now a top ten finish looks like a possibility.
Trippier himself made an excellent start in a Newcastle United jersey and was a major reason behind their upturn in form.
But, he would suffer an injury in the game against Aston Villa in February, and has been out of action since then. There is some positive news surrounding the defender though and his potential return to action.
As reported by The Telegraph (via Daily Mail), Trippier has targeted the home game against Crystal Palace on April 20 as a return date.
Trippier has targeted Crystal Palace game as potential Newcastle United return date
Trippier arrived from Atletico Madrid in January in a transfer deal believed to be around £12 million. But after a fantastic start to life at St James’ Park, he would end up breaking a bone in his foot against Aston Villa.
The England international appears to be making good progress in his recovery though and has had his protective boot removed, although he is still walking with the help of crutches.
It looks like his return to the pitch for Newcastle United might not be far away and it is safe to say that that would be a major boost for Eddie Howe’s side.
Trippier is certainly someone who can have a positive impact on this Newcastle United team, not just for now, but moving forward as well. Let’s see how things play out over the coming weeks.
