Newcastle United leading race to sign Manchester United star
Newcastle United made significant additions to their squad in the January transfer window and we have seen the impact of those on the pitch. The Magpies have been superb since the turn of the year and are one of the most in-form teams in all of Europe right now. As a result, while they had seemed destined to be relegated not too long ago, now they find themselves as contenders to finish in the top half of the Premier League table.
Of course, them staying up in the Premier League is not completely certain yet but one has to feel that a win or two more could get them past the line of safety.
Then, one would expect the club to splash out in the summer transfer window. And it looks like they have their sights on bringing in another goalkeeper in order to provide competition to Martin Dubravka.
As reported by 90min, Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Manchester United’s Dean Henderson. The English goalkeeper is keen to secure a permanent move away from the Theatre of Dreams.

Last season, it had looked like Henderson was set to be the long-term number one for Manchester United after he had moved ahead of David de Gea in the pecking order in the second half of the campaign.
This time around, De Gea has been absolutely superb though and arguably Manchester United’s player of the season. As a result, Henderson has had to spend most of his time sitting on the bench.
There is no question about his talent or ability though. He has already shown what he is capable of at the Premier League level for both Manchester United and Sheffield United. Also, he is just 25 years of age. As a result, if Newcastle United are able to sign Henderson, it could prove to be a solid addition to the squad.
