One of Newcastle United’s major weaknesses right now is the lack of a consistent goalscorer. With Callum Wilson picking up an injury, the club signed Chris Wood in January but it is safe to say that he has not been prolific in front of goal for The Magpies. As a result, it would not be a massive surprise if the club do end up going after another forward when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

At this point of time, Newcastle United’s highest goalscorer of the season is Wilson, and even he has scored just 6 times. Although, that was while playing in a side that was struggling heavily. Thus, it will be interesting to see how he does when he returns with The Magpies in much better form.

Amidst all this, the club are being linked with a huge move, as it looks like they have their eyes set on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is one of the most exciting young strikers in the world right now and is rated at a transfer fee around €100 million.

But as reported by Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via Area Napoli), Tottenham Hotspur are also really interested in Osimhen and Antonio Conte likes the striker.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Newcastle United target Osimhen

It is safe to say that things could get interesting. Osimhen is one of the top strikers in Serie A right now and is one of the biggest reasons why Napoli are still in contention to win the title.

And if Newcastle United were able to sign him, even for a transfer fee around €100 million, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the club.

But clearly, it is not going to be easy to sign Osimhen. Other than Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United have also been linked with him in recent times.
