Newcastle United are set to overhaul their squad in the summer transfer window, and seven players could be on their way out of the club.

Newcastle United are gearing up for what could be a massive summer for the club. The Magpies are set to overhaul their squad, with reports claiming that seven players could be sold. According to the Times, Newcastle are ready to sell the likes of Miguel Almiron, Dwight Gayle, Jamaal Lewis, Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark, Emil Krafth and Karl Darlow in the summer.

The players were signed for a combined fee of more than 70 million pounds, but are now free to leave Newcastle United. Eddie Howe’s side will be looking to take the next step towards becoming a force to be reckoned with in the English Premier League this summer. And the hope will be that the departures of the above mentioned players will allow them to bolster their squad with new signings.

Newcastle United have been linked with a host of players from all over the world in recent weeks. The club’s new owners showed their intent in the January transfer window with Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimarães headlining the new arrivals.

Out of the seven players who could leave, the name of Miguel Almiron appears to be the biggest surprise. Almiron arrived at Newcastle United in January 2019 for a then club record fee. But he has not been able to make the desired impact, especially this season. The 28 year old has made 21 appearances so far this season, but has yet to score or assist a goal.

Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lewis were left out of Newcastle United’s 25-man squad for the second half of the English Premier League season. And their exits appear to be inevitable.
