With their 2021 FA Cup opener less than an hour away, Newcastle United announced their starting lineup, including some key returnees.

Newcastle United are set to get their 2021 FA Cup campaign started in less than an hour. They will be facing the competition’s reigning champions, Arsenal. When the Magpies take the field at the Emirates, they will have some of their most crucial players back in the lineup.

Martin Dubravka will make his season debut in goal for Newcastle after recovering from a preseason foot injury. After an absence due to COVID-19, Jamaal Lascelles is also back in the lineup.

Ciaran Clark will be starting next to him in central defense. At the full-back spots, Emil Krafth and Paul Dummett get the nod.

In the central midfield, Steve Bruce elected to give the highly-criticized Jeff Hendrick another chance and sticks with Sean Longstaff in the middle of the park. Isaac Hayden is also selected in the midfield and could slot into the backline if adjustments are needed.

In the attack, the trio will be Miguel Almiron, Andy Carroll, and Joelinton. That could have Joelinton and Almiron playing out wide with Carroll up top or Carroll and Joelinton as duel strikers with Miggy playing behind them.

On the bench, Elliot Anderson is available to make his debut. Jacob Murphy, Matt Ritchie, and DeAndre Yedlin are available on the flanks for NUFC. Mark Gillespie serves as the backup goalkeeper and Dwight Gayle will be the option at striker as a substitute. Leading-scorer Callum Wilson isn’t in the matchday squad.
