After playing a near-perfect match against the club, Josh Dasilva should be on Newcastle United’s radar.

When it comes to scouting players, sometimes it’s best to see them in action against your own side. In Newcastle’s Carabao Cup defeat vs. Brentford, they got a great look at a star they should pursue in the transfer market.

Man of the Match Josh Dasilva was the best and most consistent performer at Brentford Community Stadium and scored the lone goal in a 1-0 result. He beautifully struck the ball to beat Karl Darlow in the second half, the cherry on top of a fantastic performance.

Not only is Dasilva talented, but he’s also versatile, which is always a welcome trait. He was all over the pitch for the Bees and is primarily a central midfielder, despite being referred to as a winger/wing-back on the broadcast. The commentators sang his praises, rightfully so, throughout the Carabao Cup quarterfinal.

He showcased his passing, shooting, work rate, and the ability to dribble past an opposing player. No matter where the action was on the pitch, Dasilva was never too far away from it. With a motor like that, Dasilva could be invaluable to a Newcastle United side that can often lack urgency.

The 22-year-old came up in the Arsenal Academy before eventually signing a professional contract with the Gunners. He’s been with Brentford since 2018 and recently inked a new deal through 2024.

But, Newcastle United should still consider making a move (TransferMarkt places his value under 10 million) for the promising player to add skill, youth, and versatility to their roster.
