Newcastle United will face West Brom on Saturday in the Premier League for the first time since 2018.

After last week’s postponement vs. Aston Villa, Newcastle United are back in action on Saturday as they will host West Bromwich Albion at St. James’ Park. When the clubs face off, the Magpies will have the chance to even up the all-time series between vs. the Baggies.

Newcastle United and West Brom have played 131 matches since 1898. Currently, West Brom holds the narrowest of edges with 49 wins to Newcastle’s 48 with 34 draws between them. Back at the beginning of the series, Newcastle only dropped one of the first 11 matches.

In the last five Premier League matchups, Newcastle only has one victory. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the lone goal in the 2016 win. Overall, the Magpies have more wins in the Premier League battles between the two sides. They have won 11 of those 22 fixtures with only five losses.

The most recent season that both were in the Premier League saw Newcastle come away with only one point. Rafa Benitez’s side went to The Hawthorns and picked up a 2-2 draw with Karl Darlow in goal. Then, West Brom picked up a 1-0 victory at St. James’ Park.

Last season, Newcastle defeated West Brom in the FA Cup fifth round. An in-form Miguel Almiron scored a brace and Valentino Lazaro added a third to put the Magpies up 3-0 before West Brom pulled two goals back late.
