If Newcastle United are going to secure an upset vs. Everton, they need a special display from their star player.

This weekend, Newcastle United will look to upset Everton this weekend at St. James’ Park. With the recent play of the Magpies, that may appear to be a tall task. But, if the club’s brightest star can turn in a special performance, a win could be on the cards for Newcastle United.

With a new contract in hand and a dazzling array of skills, Allan Saint-Maximin holds the honor of being the biggest star on Tyneside. He’s been a fan favorite since his arrival before last season and often serves as one of the few attacking bright spots with a defensive approach by Steve Bruce.

The French winger was active and had some bright moments vs. Wolves. But, he still only has one goal and one assist on the season. Both of those came in Newcastle’s 3-1 win vs. Burnley after he returned from an ankle injury suffered vs. Brighton.

Obviously, Saint-Maximin’s impact on a match goes far beyond the stats. His pace, dribbling, and creativity attract the defense’s attention and open things up for his teammates. But, there are matches when he will need to produce for this club to succeed.

As the Magpies get set to face Carlo Ancelotti’s league-leading side, they will need their biggest star to step up and deliver for them. Whether that’s with a goal or an assist, expectations will be high for Allan Saint-Maximin as Newcastle United look for their third win of the season.
