Preview: Newcastle United look to end Wolves’ two-match win streak
After conceding multiple late goals to lose vs. Man Utd, Newcastle United are back in action tomorrow as they travel to face Wolves.
Newcastle United are set to face Wolves tomorrow at Molineux Stadium in Premier League play. In recent years, the clubs have started to create a little rivalry with very close results and late goals.
Wolves currently sit sixth and have won back-to-back matches by 1-0 scorelines. Newcastle United are
Player to Watch
Newcastle United: Karl Darlow
Darlow being a key player in a league match for Newcastle is unexpected, but it’s 2020, so here we are…
The big reason Darlow is the man to watch is because of his health. Steve Bruce indicated that he’s feeling better, but that he’s still sore and it will go down to the wire if he can go. He’s been really solid in place of Dubravka and it would be a massive blow if the Magpies have to turn to Mark Gillespie in goal or if Darlow isn’t able to play up to his level due to soreness.
Wolves: Raul Jimenez
It’s tough to choose anyone here outside of the Mexican striker. He has three goals in five Premier League matches thus far and will test the Newcastle United central defense.
NUFC Injury Update
In addition to Darlow’s update, Bruce mentioned that Isaac Hayden’s sore and uncertain for Sunday’s match. Sean Longstaff is over an illness and Matty played with the U-23 side yesterday.
Newcastle Will Win If…
Steve Bruce isn’t Back Foot Bruce tomorrow. The Newcastle boss set up his team way too defensively vs. Man Utd and they couldn’t increase their lead or keep United honest with some consistent attacks or possession after going ahead early.
Against Wolves, Bruce needs to have the right lineup (hopefully including Miguel Almiron and/or Ryan Fraser) and allow them to be an attacking side.
