Newcastle United: Wilson fires clear warning to West Ham

Newcastle United will open their season in London against West Ham, and Callum Wilson is ready to go.
Newcastle United have surprised the entire league with their sudden, impressive business during this transfer window one week ahead of the new season.
West Ham United will be the Magpies’ first opponent of the season, and Steve Bruce will hope his side can emulate the same outcome as last season’s trip to the London Stadium.
It remains to be seen if newcomers Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser, and Jamal Lewis will be in action, but one newcomer is eager to get going.
The Toon Army will be happy to hear Wilson’s confidence ahead of this clash, while West Ham fans will be hoping the England international stays on the bench. In a recent interview, Wilson made the following comments:
"It’s a nice team to play against, it gives me confidence going into that game having scored so many goals against them in the past.[…]I’ve been working hard at Bournemouth for the last few weeks and now I am just looking forward to training with the boys and then it’s down to the manager whether to put me in or not."
With a full preseason under his belt with Bournemouth before putting pen to paper for Newcastle United, Wilson is looking forward to playing from the opening whistle.
Wilson is a nightmare striker for the Hammers as he boasts an impressive record of seven goals against them. Newcastle United are hoping Wilson, who is now the club’s third-most expensive signing (£20m), will end their scoring woes in his first shift.
Newcastle United and West Ham have had some close encounters over the last few seasons, but the Magpies will enter this game with renewed optimism after making some quality signings.
