Newcastle United have a deal in place for Norwich City star Jamal Lewis.

Newcastle United have taken the Premier League by storm with their unexpected transfer activity over the last 48 hours. The Magpies went from bargain hunters to impressive spenders overnight.

The front office at St. James’ Park submitted a £13.5m bid to Norwich City for the services of Jamal Lewis, and to everyone’s surprise the bid was accepted.

The dynamic left-back will be a solid addition to the squad, and he is expected to start on the wing opposite of Javier Manquillo.

Newcastle United fans are excited about this deal, but one person is quite upset. Norwich City manager Daniel Farke disagrees with the club’s decision to sell the rising star. Here are some statements Farke made:

"From the sporting point of view we need our best players and I wouldn’t sell any of our best players.[…]But I am not naive. Decisions have to be made in the interests of the club, not just the head coach."

Farke has every right to be upset, but, like he said, the executives call the shots and they made a business decision.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, are thrilled to be the team that was on the receiving end of this impressive business. With winger Ryan Fraser and striker Callum Wilson expected to join Newcastle United in the coming days as well, the Toon have significantly upgraded the squad in every third of the pitch.

So much so that Newcastle United should not be mentioned in the relegation discussion this season. That is a bold statement, but they have made some noise in this transfer window.
