Newcastle could be set to add this El Tri star on loan

Looking for another star on the wing, Newcastle United are keen on a loan deal for Hirving Lozano.

Newcastle United finished the 2019-20 Premier League season with the fourth-fewest goals in the league. While adding a striker is the top priority, the Magpies also need a productive winger to play opposite of Allan Saint-Maximin. That player could turn out to be Napoli’s Hirving “Chucky” Lozano.

Linked with the winger in the past, Newcastle appears to be trending closer to adding Chucky on a loan deal. The club was rumored to be interested in buying him during the proposed takeover phase, but now a temporary move seems more likely. Corriere Dello Sport in Italy reported that Napoli declined an offer to buy Lozano by Everton and are more interested in sending him to Tyneside on loan.

Chucky joined Napoli a year ago tomorrow from PSV of the Eredivisie. He scored 17 league goals and added 11 assists in his final full season in the Netherlands. In a tumultuous first season in Italy, which saw him left out of training at a point, he was able to score four goals in Serie A. Lozano tallied another goal in the Champions League where he made seven appearances.

He’s considered one of the rising stars of the Mexican national team, too. He has ten international goals and seven assists, including one of each in the FIFA 2018 World Cup. Newcastle would benefit from the passionate fan base of El Tri keeping tabs on their young winger and would be adding an explosive player without having to break the bank on a transfer fee.

Lozano, Saint-Maximin, and Miguel Almiron as the number ten would definitely be a formidable trio and would boost any striker that’s player in the middle.
