Newcastle United are tapping into the loan market as they search for new talent this summer.

Newcastle United fans are rightfully focused on getting a statement out of the Premier League for the club’s failed takeover. The current front office executives, however, continue to operate with the motto of “business as usual.”

The Magpies desperately need to bring in some new faces that can add more quality to the squad across the pitch, especially on the front line.

The most frequent rumors as of late claim that Newcastle United have their sights primarily set on Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) and Ryan Fraser (free).

The latest report from the Northern Echo adds new information to the current rumor mill as Newcastle United are now navigating the loan market.

According to the report, Newcastle United are looking to secure the services of Liverpool’s versatile attacker Harry Wilson and Chelsea’s promising young talent Conor Gallagher.

The duo, aged 23 and 20, respectively, would be solid additions to Steve Bruce’s team. Wilson has performed well as a loanee at Hull City (2017-18), Derby County (2018-19), and Bournemouth (2019-20).

The Wales international scored seven goals in 13 league appearances for Hull City, 15 goals in 40 games for Derby County, and he found the back of the net seven times in 31 top flight appearances for Bournemouth.

The fact Wilson can play in any position across the front line is also a major plus for Newcastle United. Gallagher also stood out in his recent loan spells at Charlton Athletic (2019-20) and Swansea City (2020).

His work ethic has been praised by managers at both clubs, and his ability to play as a box-to-box midfielder is something that would allow Jonjo Shelvey to stay higher up the pitch and orchestrate attacks.

Newcastle United need all the creativity they can get at the moment. It is fair to assume that fans would be much more excited about Harry Wilson’s possible arrival.

Despite his inexperience, Gallagher would be a good addition as well. It remains to be seen how things play out with both youngsters, but they are on the Magpies’ radar.
