Center-back Jamaal Lascelles spent another season as Newcastle United’s captain. While he wasn’t always at his best all the time, largely due to injuries, he is still a vital piece to the core of this club.

Durim Halimi: Jamaal Lascelles struggled with inconsistency last season, but he was in top form for the Magpies this term. Lascelles did well to organize the back line, was a vocal leader, and put his body on the line several times to make life easier for Martin Dubravka.

It is unfortunate that the skipper had to miss time off the pitch due to injuries, but, when fit, he has shown that is capable of being a general on the pitch.
