Yoshinori Muto should look to leave Newcastle United as soon as the transfer window opens.

Newcastle United are 90 minutes away from fully turning their attention to the 2020-21 Premier League campaign. The club has a lot of work to do as they are still identifying transfer targets and figuring out who will be leaving.

One player in particular who should put in a transfer request is Japanese international striker Yoshinori Muto. Of all the strikers in the squad, Muto has been left in the shadows by Steve Bruce. At 28, Muto is still in his prime, but the former Mainz striker should take his talents elsewhere.

According to a new report from the Chronicle, Bruce stated that Muto could get another chance to impress for Newcastle United in pre-season. Key word: could.

The striker has only made eight appearances for the Magpies this season, six of which were as a substitute, and he was completely left off the bench on multiple occasions.

Since joining Newcastle United in the summer of 2018, Muto has only started seven games, played in 25 league games, and only has one goal to his name.

Obviously, his final output is far from where it should be, but Bruce should have done a better job of integrating the Japanese striker into the squad this season.

Muto has struggled in the Premier League, but it is important to keep in mind that he found the back of the net 20 times in 66 appearances when playing in the Bundesliga between 2015 and 2017.

That talent is still there, but he has not been given a chance to perform, especially now that Newcastle United are playing more attacking football.

Another report from Tyneside claims that Muto and the club will sit down to discuss his future, but the striker should honestly pack his bags before his best years end up behind him.
