We all continue to wait for the Newcastle United takeover to be completed. Since this saga began, elite players around the world have been linked with a move to the new-look Magpies. Of all of the world-class players that have been mentioned, Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz would be the best signing for Newcastle United.

Havertz turned 21 years old yesterday and he’s proving to be one of the most sought after players in the world this summer. Outside of Newcastle United, clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and countless others are in the market for the German youngster. You don’t have to look at his resume and skill set very long to realize why.

With his pace, dribbling, vision, and finishing, Havertz can transform an attack. Before picking up a knock, he was electrifying to watch as the Bundesliga returned last month. He can play on the right-winger, as an attacking midfielder, and as a center-forward. Havertz has 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season.

Last season, he scored 20 goals to go with seven assists. He’s also broke into the first team of the German national team and recorded two assists in EURO qualifying.

If Newcastle United can beat the powerhouse clubs to his signature, they will have locked down one of the most versatile, talented players in the world ahead of his prime. He would lift the performance of every player in the NUFC attack.
