Chelsea might finally sell Michy Batshuayi and Newcastle United are interested.

Newcastle United are tied as the worst scoring club in the Premier League this season. The focus will need to be on improving the attack this summer, whether the transfer goes through or not. With a major star likely heading to Chelsea, the Blues could be ready to sell one of their seldom-used forwards to the Magpies.

For years, Michy Batshuayi has felt like a good fit for Newcastle United. Now, it appears that it could become a reality with Timo Werner set to join Frank Lampard’s side.

The Belgian international has played in 24 matches across all competitions this season with six goals and two assists, including his match-winning goal in the Champions League vs. Ajax.

He signed with the Blues back in 2016 and scored the goal that clinched the 2016-17 Premier League title for Chelsea. But, after a positive stretch towards the end of that season, Batshuayi was never able to establish himself as “the guy” for the club.

In the past, The Batsman has always preferred to stay with Chelsea and battle for his place. But, with one year left on his contract and potentially three strikers (Werner, Tammy Abraham, and Olivier Giroud) ahead of him, he might finally relent to leaving London.

The price tag is reportedly around 40 million with West Ham reigniting their interest from the 2016 pursuit that ended with him at Chelsea. But, Newcastle United are also in the running and with his experience in the league and engaging personality, Michy Batshuayi would be a welcome addition to the front line at NUFC.
