4. Florian Lejeune’s late heroics vs. Everton

Okay, it’s time to be honest… how many of you had your thumb on the power button of your remote control when Everton were still up 2-0 in stoppage time? Not a single person on the planet could have predicted that the game would end 2-2. Florian Lejeune set a Premier League record by scoring twice in 90 seconds to salvage a shocking point for his side on the road.

The first goal was simply stunning as Lejeune put his athleticism on display with a brilliant overhead kick that sent the ball into the side netting. A minute-and-a-half later, Lejeune was in the right place at the right time once again as he shot the ball with plenty of power to force Jordan Pickford to make a save behind the line.

Despite only earning a draw, the way the team and fans celebrated was similar to a massive victory. It is also fair to say that the ending to this game will be remembered in the Premier League for the next several years.

3. Miguel Almiron scores his first goal for Newcastle United

The Toon Army started to lose hope in Miguel Almiron due to his lack of production in front of goal, but the former Atlanta United star opened his scoring account with Newcastle United in a big way. With the score still 0-0 in the 82nd minute, fans were growing frustrated as they thought the Magpies were going to drop points against yet another mid-table club.

Fabian Schar was out wide, quickly crossed the ball into the heart of the penalty area, Andy Carroll headed the ball down and Miguel Almiron was left unmarked as he scored the game winner with an acrobatic volley in the 83rd minute. It was a special moment to witness as a Newcastle United supporter, not just because the goal secured three crucial points, but seeing how passionate fans were for Almiron.

Personally, I have not seen the Toon Army get that loud and excited since Ayoze Perez completed the Magpies’ late comeback against Everton last season. Almiron is a talented player and a fan favorite for all the work he puts into every performance, so seeing him open his account with Newcastle United was something special.
