Newcastle United failed to claim three points at home against Norwich City, but they did manage to earn a clean sheet at home.

Newcastle United were hoping to reach 33 points after this game, but Norwich City did enough to frustrate the Magpies at St. James’ Park. Newcastle United had some good chances to score in both halves, but poor precision in front of goal led to dropped points. Here is how every player performed today.

Man of the Match

Martin Dubravka (9/10)

  • The Slovakian keeper was at his best today as he managed to silence a talented striker in Teemu Pukki. Dubravka made some big saves that kept the Magpies in this game. He earned his seventh clean sheet of the season.

Defenders

Jamaal Lascelles (7/10)

  • The skipper put in a decent shift today without any major errors. He stayed in front of the opposition the whole time, but some of his clearances were rushed and led to dangerous corners for Norwich City.

Ciaran Clark (7/10)

  • Like Lascelles, Clark did very little wrong in this game, but he failed to assert his typical aggressive style of play in the back today, and Norwich City looked comfortable in the final third as a result.

Federico Fernandez (9/10)

  • Fernandez earned the same rating as Dubravka (MOTM) and he was the best defender on the pitch. Fernandez made some important tackles, intercepted multiple passes, brought the ball forward and delivered quality crosses from out wide.
