Signing Lookman would be great news for Almiron

Newcastle United are in talks to sign Ademola Lookman and his arrival would benefit Miguel Almiron.
Newcastle United are currently negotiating a loan deal with RB Leipzig for winger Ademola Lookman. Bringing in a quality striker to resolve the club’s scoring woes is a top priority, but it looks like the deal for a midfielder will happen first. RB Leipzig own the top spot in the Bundesliga, but Lookman, a 22-year-old winger who moved to the RB Leipzig from Everton last summer, has only made three appearances this season.
Lookman wants a move away from the league leaders and is reportedly content with signing for Newcastle United. This signing would be considered good business for the Magpies, and his arrival would benefit Miguel Almiron more than anyone else in the squad.
Seeing that Almiron has been playing as a winger for the Toon, most of you are probably wondering how the arrival of another winger benefits Almiron when it should spark more competition for the Paraguayan international? Well, signing Lookman would make it easier for Steve Bruce to move Almiron into his traditional role as a central attacking midfielder.
Almiron attracted interest from Newcastle United because of his elite performances as a playmaker who orchestrated attacks and scored goals for fun up the middle of the pitch for Atlanta United. Lookman’s primary competition out wide would be Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie. Atsu has been inconsistent this season and Ritchie was out for a few months with a severe ankle injury that required two surgeries.
As a result, Bruce was forced to keep Almiron out wide until key players returned. Allan Saint-Maximin, who is undoubtedly the team’s most talented and dynamic winger, is set to return from his second hamstring injury this month, but his return to the starting lineup will most likely be a gradual process.
That being said, Lookman will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his talent out wide, and Almiron would finally take on the role of a playmaker just behind the front three, which is something he has not been able to do since joining the Toon last January.
