Newcastle United: Top 5 moments of the decade

Newcastle United have created many special and memorable moments in the last ten years, but what are the best memories we have of the club in this decade?

The last ten years have sparked a roller coaster of emotions in the hearts of the Toon Army. Newcastle United managed to finish among the top five and experienced two relegations in the same decade. Going from hearing the Europa League anthem at St. James’ Park to facing Plymouth Argyle on the road in the Championship was no fun at all.

For all the low moments, though, this decade did consist of some unforgettable moments that Newcastle United fans can share with younger generations for years to come. It truly isn’t all that easy being a supporter of this club, especially with Mike Ashley running the show and refusing to wake the sleeping giant of English football with consistent investment, but we were able to witness some incredible moments that made us temporarily forget all the negativity.

Before we dive into the top five best moments of the decade, I think it’s important to highlight a few honorable mentions. Selecting five of the best moments between 2010 and 2019 is a difficult task, and some of you might think a few of these honorable mentions belong in the final list, but the important thing is for these moments to get some recognition.
