Newcastle United are hoping to leave the King Power Stadium with a positive result tomorrow, but Leicester City are expected to handle business at home.
Newcastle United and Leicester City are on opposite ends of the Premier League table, but a win for the Magpies could see them jump from 17th to 12th if other results around the league also go in their favor. Newcastle United have won their last two games at the King Power Stadium, but Leicester City are a new and improved team now.
The Foxes are in top form at the moment with three victories and two draws to start the season. Brendan Rodgers’ side has been solid in the back and this is reflected in the fact that they have only conceded five goals, but they have only scored eight times despite the plethora of attacking options they have in midfield and up top. Regardless of the number of goals they have scored, the Foxes have created 78 chances, so the Magpies’ back-line is in for a long shift. Jamie Vardy already has three goals and one assist to his name and, in my opinion, he will be the most problematic player on the pitch.
Newcastle United have been lacking creativity all season, but they need to find an innovative spark in the final third on Sunday if they want to earn a positive result against a superior opponent on the road.
Leicester City will look to keep Newcastle United in their own half from the opening whistle, but Steve Bruce’s men are well-disciplined behind the ball. For this reason, I am expecting the Foxes to dominate the game in most statistical categories, but the final score might not reflect that domination.

Predictions in the Media
As they do every week, Mark Lawrenson (BBC) and Charlie Nicholas (Sky Sports) have shared their two cents with the public. They both seem disappointed with the Magpies’ lazy performance against Brighton last weekend and as a result they both predicted the home team to win by two goals.
Mark Lawrenson – Leicester City 2-0 Newcastle United
Charlie Nicholas – Leicester City 3-1 Newcastle United
