Newcastle United know all too well how good it feels to be back in the Premier League, so, welcome back, Norwich City and Sheffield United!
Norwich City and Sheffield United clinched their promotions to the Premier League a few days ago by securing first and second place, respectively. Both teams have one more game left on their schedules, but they only have the top tier of English football on their minds at this point.
The Canaries are returning to the Premier League for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign when they were relegated along with Newcastle United. It is worth mentioning that former Newcastle keeper, Tim Krul, is coming up with the Canaries next season.
The Blades, on the other hand, are making the more exciting return to the Top Flight. The last time Sheffield United competed in the Premier League was in 2006. Since then, the Blades found themselves bouncing between League One and the Championship.

The Magpies will have to wait several weeks to see when they will play both teams, but until then let us take a look at how Newcastle have fared against Norwich City and Sheffield United since the formation of the league in 1992.
Newcastle vs. Norwich City
Newcastle and Norwich City have played 14 Premier League games against each other since 1994. The Magpies won seven games in this series, which includes a 6-2 victory back in 2015, while the Canaries have claimed four victories since 1994.

Here is a list of the five most recent results between the two sides in the Premier League:
- 2013: Norwich City 0-0 Newcastle
- 2013: Newcastle 2-1 Norwich City
- 2014: Norwich City 0-0 Newcastle
- 2015: Newcastle 6-2 Norwich City
- 2016: Norwich City 3-2 Newcastle
Newcastle vs. Sheffield United
Due to the fact that the Magpies and Blades have only played each other four times in the Top Flight, I cannot even compile a list of the five most recent results. The most recent Premier League game between the two sides was in 2007, a game which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Toon. That being said, we should just applaud Sheffield United for earning promotion and look forward to playing them twice next season.
