Newcastle United have provided supporters and the media with updates on four players yesterday.

Newcastle United earned an impressive 3-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday as Ayoze Perez slotted home three goals. It marked the Spaniard’s first hat-trick with the Magpies and the second of his career. While the squad’s hard work concluded after the final whistle, the managerial staff and the club’s executive office kept working and made some key decisions after yesterday’s win.

Two of the updates provided by the club came from Rafa Benitez regarding the injury statuses of Miguel Almiron and Fabian Schar. The other news is related to the transfer window this summer, specifically regarding Isaac Hayden and Salomon Rondon.

Update: Miguel Almiron

Newcastle’s record signing fell to the ground holding his hamstring after being tackled from behind in the 63rd minute against Southampton. Almiron walked off the pitch with tears in his eyes and headed straight for the tunnel. According to Benitez, there is a chance that Almiron could miss the remainder of the season (three games), but the club will assess him this week to see how his hamstring reacts to various activities.

Update: Fabian Schar

Four minutes after Almiron left the game, Schar joined him in the locker room after he also fell to the ground with an injury. Benitez claims that Schar has been dealing with pain in his gluteus muscles, which was impacting his thigh movement in the second half. The Spaniard went on to say that Schar is doubtful for the game against Brighton this Saturday, so we should expect to see Federico Fernandez start in central defense.

Update: Isaac Hayden

We all know that Hayden is expected to leave the club this summer to move closer to his family in southern England. Multiple clubs have been linked with the 23-year-old midfielder, but a new report claims that Newcastle have decided on an asking price for Hayden. Any club that wishes to secure Hayden’s services this summer must be willing to pay £15M.

Update: Salomon Rondon

Lee Charnley has provided an update on the club’s stance regarding Salomon Rondon. Newcastle’s managing director stated that Rondon will return to West Brom this summer and Newcastle will only sign him to a permanent contract if West Brom, Newcastle and Rondon can agree to terms. If not, Rondon will be wearing a different kit next season. Overall, though, it looks like the club will, at the very least, keep the door open for Rondon and participate in negotiations with West Brom.
