Newcastle United Loanee Look In: February 2019

As we move through February, we check in on the players that are loaned away from Newcastle United this season.

Nearing a month removed from the close of the January transfer window, Newcastle United have some players experiencing varying levels of success on loan. We take a quick look at each of them.

Achraf Lazaar

Sheffield Wednesday

After arriving at the end of January, the left-back has not appeared yet for the Championship side. He has been on the bench for three of the four matches this month.

Cal Roberts

Colchester United

After scoring a FA Cup goal for Newcastle United, he went on loan to League Two side Colchester United. He’s made one appearance so far, playing less than ten minutes in the club’s win over Northampton Town.

Daniel Barlaser

Accrington Stanley

He’s been with the League One side all season. Barlaser has 29 total appearances for the club and has scored twice in cup competitions.

Dwight Gayle

West Bromwich Albion

With 16 goals and seven assists in 26 league appearances, Gayle is again producing at the Championship level. But, he received a two-match ban this week for diving and earning a penalty against Nottingham Forest.

Elias Sorensen

Blackpool

The Danish Geordie has made one appearance in League One with Blackpool. He’s been on the bench for three matches.

Henri Saivet

Bursaspor

In 17 Super Lig appearances, Saivet has one assist for the Turkish side. He’s started 13 times this season.

Jack Colback

Nottingham Forest

The midfielder has played in 27 matches for Forest in the Championship. He’s scored two goals, tallied one assist, and racked up 10 yellow cards.

Jacob Murphy

West Bromwich Albion

After failing to score a goal this season for Newcastle United, Murphy has already scored once for West Brom. He’s made three appearances in the Championship.

Jamie Sterry

Crewe Alexandra

He has not seen the pitch in any of the League Two side’s four matches since he arrived.

Josef Yarney

Chesterfield FC

After making 21 League Two appearances with Morecambe FC, he’s made one start with fifth division side Chesterfield FC since arriving in January.

Liam Gibson

Accrington Stanley

Joining Accrington in January, he has made two appearances for the League One side.

Rolando Aarons

Sheffield Wednesday

He failed to score a goal with Slovan Liberec before joining Sheffield Wednesday. He’s made two Championship appearances so far.
