Despite being the underdog, Newcastle United will focus on claiming three points tomorrow against an in-form Bournemouth.

Back-to-back home victories is the goal for Newcastle United tomorrow when they host a Bournemouth side that has stunned the Premier League with their stellar form early on. Newcastle are coming off an impressive 1-0 victory over Watford and supporters are hoping to see that victory translate into confidence this weekend.

Bournemouth are coming off a narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, but the Cherries are currently in the top six after 11 matches. Eddie Howe’s men will come to Tyneside hoping to rebound from their loss last weekend and Newcastle should be prepared for an attack-minded opponent.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00PM and both sets of supporters should expect to see a competitive match at St. James’ Park. Newcastle will look to distance themselves further away from the relegation zone before the upcoming international break while Bournemouth will look to inch closer to the top four with a win.

Balanced Football From Newcastle

If Newcastle end up winning this match the scoreline will only read 1-0. Bournemouth might not have a big name in the football world, but they will be one of the most talented teams Newcastle faces all season. The visitors have earned England’s attention with their current form and they have also earned Newcastle’s respect heading into tomorrow’s match.

Rafa Benitez would be taking a major risk if he deployed a formation that screamed attack from the opening whistle. The key to a positive result for Newcastle is to wear Bournemouth down with aggressive defending in the back and constant pressure from the strikers up top. With Yoshinori Muto and Jonjo Shelvey unlikely to suit up for this match, all eyes will be on Ki Sung-yueng and Ayoze Perez.

Last weekend, Ki showed that he can control the tempo of a match and spread the ball around to open players with precision, while Perez showed that he can, finally, be clinical in front of goal. Both players simply have to copy and paste their performances against Watford when they play Bournemouth in order for Newcastle to have a chance at winning.

This match should be interesting and it will certainly be competitive. Newcastle should be prepared for a long afternoon against Bournemouth’s dynamic front-line which has already scored 20 goals and averages 13 shots per match. A draw should be seen as a good result for Newcastle, but a victory could see them surpass three more teams to move into a mid-table slot.
