Most importantly, Jonas Gutierrez is cancer-free by all accounts. The midfielder currently plays for Independiente in Argentina. The club finished 6th in the Argentine top division. He made 20 Primera Division appearances last season and tallied an assist and four yellow cards. A versatile player, he’s seen most of his action at right back, where he also played primarily for the national team. His contract runs until June 2019.
