Finisher

The biggest problem for Newcastle United this season has been scoring goals. The Magpies have only scored 30 goals in 30 matches. In all fairness, several teams have struggled to score during this campaign as eight clubs have fewer goals than Benitez’s men.

To solve this issue, Benitez can try to get funds for a well-known striker or Newcastle can spend wisely to find a striker who fits his 4-2-3-1 system. With that being said, the best option for Benitez would be Salomon Rondon from West Brom.

Rondon would be a strong addition to Newcastle’s front-line. Over the course of his Premier League career, the Venezuelan striker has scored 22 goals in 100 appearances. Thus far in the 2017/18 campaign, Rondon has found the back of the net five times.

His Premier League statistics may not be that impressive, however, it is important to remember that he plays for a struggling, slow-paced West Brom. At the international level, the 28-year-old striker has played well by scoring 19 goals in 67 appearances for Venezuela.

Statistics aside, Newcastle supporters should also remember that Mike Ashley is not a major spender in transfer windows. Rondon is currently valued between 13 and 17 million euros. With West Brom destined for the Championship, Rondon could be an easy and affordable target for Newcastle.
