Newcastle United: The end of a season, how will it go for the top three?
By Jody Swem
With eight matches remaining for Newcastle United, I feel we have it easier than the other top three teams.
Newcastle has eight matches remaining, and I wish to quickly determine points from each match. I also will be quickly covering the remaining eight matches of Brighton and nine matches of Huddersfield.
United’s next eight matches are: Wigan Athletic- Home, Burton Albion- Home, Sheffield Wednesday- Away, Leeds United- Home, Ipswich Town- Away, Preston North End- Home, Cardiff City- Away, and Barnsley- Home. I see Newcastle getting 20 points in these remaining games, totaling at 98 points.
Brighton Hove & Albion’s next eight matches are: Blackburn Rovers- Home, Birmingham City- Home, QPR- Away, Wolverhampton Wanderers- Away, Wigan Athletic- Home, Norwich City- Away, Bristol City- Away, and Aston Villa-Away. I foresee Brighton earning 14 points from these remaining games, with a total of 91 points.
As for Huddersfield Town, they have nine remaining matches with a potential three points at hand. The remaining nine matches are: Burton Albion- Home, Norwich City- Home, Nottingham Forest- Away, Preston North End- Home, Derby County- Away, Fulham- Home, Wolverhampton Wanderers- Away, Birmingham City- Away, and Cardiff City- Home. As for Huddersfield, I see more points coming out of them with 19 points, totaling 89 points at the end of the season.
So in conclusion, I see Newcastle winning the league with a total of 98 points, followed by Brighton with 91 points, and finally Huddersfield with 89 points. Of course, I am biased to Newcastle United, but the season is not over yet. There is much to do.
If you have 13 minutes to spare, you can see my YouTube version of my livestream speaking on this very topic.
With eight matches remaining for the Toon, I feel we have it easier than the other two top three teams. This is how I have come to my conclusion. As for Brighton and Huddersfield, I hope they lose all of their remaining matches, and take the pressure off of us. I laugh out loud as I type that, but I just love Newcastle, and want to see us fight, win, and get promoted as Champions.
