Matz Sels

Matz Sels had a relatively boring first outing. I was glad to see him start, however. The goal, scored by Matt Smith was just too powerful a header for Sels to stop. He could do nothing about the goal.

I felt that Sels performed well for his first official Newcastle United match. But it wasn’t enough to fully analyze his potential as a keeper. The match was underwhelming on both sides of the pitch, and hopefully, if Sels starts against Huddersfield, we can see an electric display.

All-in-all, it’s difficult to look at Matz Sels. He did well defending against set pieces, and had that header not come his way, we may have been looking at a draw.
