Even if there was a club willing to part with big money to buy Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, the income raised from that deal would not nowhere near enough to buy Moussa Sissoko.
Despite the fact that the Welsh international has just made the Euro 2016 team of the year, he is still only valued at £6.8m by the website transfermarkt.co.uk.
And anyway, Sissoko and Allen both play in different positions and have vastly different roles – so a like-for-like swap doesn’t seem to make sense.

The competition for places in the Reds midfield is also fierce, and Jurgen Klopp would probably have to sell more than one before bringing in a marquee signing.
