Absolutely gutted! Newcastle players react to relegation

Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot wouldn’t have expected to play much football for the Magpies this season, but after stepping in for Tim Krul he has excelled.

After he was struck down by a knee injury while playing for the Republic of Ireland, Elliot has been a vocal presence on social media in support of the club.

The former Charlton Athletic player was only one of three to voice his opinion about the relegation, and that will warm the hearts of the Geordie nation a little.
